Vaud & the Villains at Cirque Berzerk

Vaud and the Villains are straight out of the 1920s, and when I say straight, I mean like yesterday was July 8, 1922. The 18-piece band plays 3 1-hour sets, and they’re all energy, all the time, even during the sultry ballads and the steamy solos. They’re outfitted with a brass section, an accordion, a fiddle player, a handful of soulful singers, the usual bass, drums, and guitar, and two seductive dancers, brought out at just the right moments to punctuate the night with a tasteful touch of shiver down your spine.
Vaud and the Villains are indeed to be experienced. You just have to see singer Jesse – the pint sized wailer that can captivate every venue, no matter how big or small, with her emotional roller-coaster of a voice. You have to be there to get the jokes, see the smiles, and get zapped with that indelible energy that makes your feet tingle so much that you can’t help but dance.
They’ve moved from their old haunt Club Fais Do Do, and have joined forces with Cirque Berzerk to take you on a time-travelling trip back to an era that exists only in your imagination, where you can step right up to the show! and be engulfed in a world filled with fantastical sights and sounds, smells and tastes, a world swirling around you that dares you to shed your former self and become one of them….if only for a night.
Catch them until July 26th at the LA State Historic Park, shows begin at 7pm, 8:30pm and 10pm, depending on the night.
