Have you been guilted into buying organic/sustainable/locally-made lately? If not, this serves as your friendly reminder to get on it!
The 2nd Annual Renegade Craft Fair will be in full swing July 24 and 25, from 11am – 7pm at the Los Angeles State Historic Park, and they’re hosting some of the coolest vendors known to Los Angeles mankind. Support your local indie creative types and buy their stuff!
With over 200 vendors and artists, you’re bound to find something totally useful that you didn’t know existed. Our personal picks are I Made You A Beard, with their fake beards and beard art, perfect for any formal occasion or a day in the park; The Tomato Club, with their jolly assortment of sock monkeys and their ilk; and Skeletal Dropkick, with their skeletal-themed housewares from the psychic underbelly of Tim Burton. Expect jewelry, hair accessories, clothing, wallets, art, housewares, toys, and the general OMG-esque experience that only the LA art & design crowd can bring.
Chances are you’ll end up itching to express your inner indie artist and make something yourself. Don’t wait to get home to break out the popsicle sticks – you can make whatever oddity your heart desires right then and there in their craft workshops, all while jamming out to some live marching band music. Bring your Metro ticket stub and get a free Juxtapoz magazine!

A painting, you know, it’s all dirty material. But it’s about transformation. Taking that earth, that heavy earthen kind of thing, turning it into air and light. (Brice Marden)
