Marie Louise Cosmetics: Day 1

Posted by Trisha, Apr 12, 2010

I first discovered Marie Louise Cosmetics at the Pamper Me Fabulous event  in March. I sampled some of their product there, and when I saw my dead skin cells just rolling off before my eyes, I was hooked. The lovely people at Marie Louise Cosmetics sent me some more products to try, and I started my test drive last night.

After washing my face and patting it dry, I squeezed out 4 1/2 pumps of the Restoration Clear Gel and started to massage the gel into my skin. This is the same product I tried on my hand at Pamper Me Fabulous, so I was a little squeamish to see the dead skin rolling off my face. But sure enough, a few seconds later, lots of little greyish-yellow balls of skin cells started appearing. When the liquid in the gel has disappeared, it’s time to wash it off, and I could already feel the results through the warm water. My face felt like a fine velvet and I kept touching my cheeks and my forehead to feel the smoothness – my face has never felt like that before!

My pores have been giant since forever, and all of a sudden, they had all shrank to about half their size – I’ve never had a product work that fast before, most products require two weeks to even begin to see results. I followed up with a Clinique moisturizer, and hit the sack.

The next morning, my skin still looked and felt perfect. I’ve got a silicone-based tinted moisturizer that I use when I want to look super-fancy, but the Restoration Clear Gel left me with the same flawless look that I achieve with the tinted moisturizer, and my skin still feels super-smooth. And this is just Day 1!

I also tried  Marie Louise’s Vital Nanoemulsion a-VC, a beauty serum designed to brighten skin and reduce the appearance of fine lines. I cursed my oily skin in my youth, but it’s kept me looking young as I age, so I don’t have crinkly skin or fine lines at 28….except around my eyes because I hate wearing sunglasses. Years of squinting in the sun have caused a few lines, so I applied the Vital Nanoemulsion a-VC around my eyes, and patted it in until it was all absorbed. I didn’t see immediate results like i did with the Restoration Clear Gel that night or the following morning, but I suspect I’ll see results more gradually over time.

Day 1 = win! No issues to report on, except smooth flawless skin! I’ll continue the updates throughout the Marie Louis Cosmetics test run.
