If you haven’t been to Mitsuwa, you haven’t been to Japan without buying the plane ticket. Mitsuwa is the local Japanese market who keeps it real like Jon’s wants to keep it real with the Eastern European cuisine. But better. At Mitsuwa, you can get fresh sashimi in the styrofoam plates, so you can make your own gosh-darn sushi, 20 lb bags of sushi rice, and  an entire aisle of sake.

The kind of sake aisle where you can strike up conversation with the next sake-buyer about the virtues of the various kinds of sake. Mitsuwa also has a food court of sorts, which is always packed. They’ve shellacked all their food and put it in the window so you can actually see what you’re getting. The problem is that it all looks so good, all shellacked and shiny like that.

If you don’t know, go and educate yourself. We heart Mitsuwa!
