Pamper Me Fabulous, Daahhling

Posted by Trisha, Apr 01, 2010

The Pamper Me Fabulous this weekend was a fun-filled, relaxing expo of health and beauty products, featuring everything from facial masks from Purigenex, massages from The Lounge Spa, hair treatments, and paraffin wax hand and foot treatments from Meltology (pictured below). Hands got special treatment from El Leon (pictured left). The Vibiana in downtown LA was packed to the gills with scrubs, body butters, body souffles, body yogurts, waxes, hand creams, foot creams, anti-aging products, skin detoxers, and every other beauty concoction you can imagine.

In addition to sampling the most delicious products from premiere and luxury beauty companies, the Pamper Me Fabulous VIP area let you partake in services that every girl would swoon over! VIPers indulged in manicures by OPI (pictured below), featuring colors from their Hong Kong spring collections (I chose Suzi Says Feng Shui – beautiful!), hot stone massages, and even eyelash extensions! It was indeed a girly-girl’s heaven.

There were a few stand-outs in the crowd: Mark Alice Cosmetics were just so lush! Their body souffles were oh-so-creamy, and they even featured a special rose water to rinse the souffle off. Their products were great, and made even better by their super-friendly, super-excited representatives who absolutely loved the products. There really is nothing like a representative who really believes in their product.

Marie Louise skincare shone among the sea of organic, natural concoctions with nanotechnology. They blinded me so with science that they’re getting a post all their own, so look out for nanotechnical cell-speak to hit the LA Buzz Blog soon! Just for a teaser – their exfoliant is so smooth and you can actually see the cells sloughing off! Geek girls, say hello to your new beauty products!

Now, I’m more of a jewelry girl myself, so I naturally gravitated towards the bling and the baubles. I can’t tell you how happy I was to see jewelry with some muscle behind it, as opposed to the dainty, whispy traces of silver and gems that seem barely worth the price. Yummi Glass was featured loveable chunks of polished glass straight from Italy. The exquisite shapes and colors, framed in tones of silver and gold just begged to be touched and admired. Renee Vintage Designs had some gorgeous pieces hand-made from vintage jewelry, and was like rummaging through your completely fabulous, fashion maven grandma’s jewelry.

All that pampering certainly left a gal hungry, and Barefoot Wine, Mignon Chocolates, LA Bento, Izzo, Luna Bars, and My Sweet Cupcakes (pictured right) were on hand to feed the masses. Mignon Chocolates, based in Pasadena, kept it going by the wine bar with a full-sized, glorious chocolate fountain, and some of the best truffles this side of anywhere!

Pamper Me Fabulous’ experience also featured scheduled speakers on all things spa and beauty. I sat in for the Foot Reflexology workshop and the Spastrology (not spazz-strology, SPAstrology), both sponsored by Spa Magazine. In a nutshell from the workshops, when in doubt, lavender works wonders, and massage those feet – it’s good for everything!

The gift bags were so generously filled with products from Spa Magazine, New Beauty Magazine, Purigenex, Rosebud, Murad, Lumeme, OPI, Philosophy, Akabi, and Yogaworks, just to name a few. Pamper Me Fabulous was a great way to learn about health and beauty treatments, snag some great product, and relax. If only such a day happened every weekend! A gal can only dream, but until then, spa days at home with the fabulous products and massages at The Lounge Spa will do!
