Los Angeles; No more licenses for same-sex marriages

LA County halted the issuance of marriage licenses first thing this morning, due to the sickening outcome/passage of Prop 8. Although the divorce rate in the U.S. is at an all-time high (in the 60th percentile) … somehow Ron Prentice, chairman of ProtectMarriage.com, thinks that this is a victory for the sanctity of marriage, when in fact heterosexuals are the ones who have stripped the word of its most potent form. The fact that the country is denying it to the LGBT community, is only making the community want it even more .. and trust me, they will get it. While the election of Sen. Obama was a milestone in American history, the passage of Prop 8 marks the antithesis of progress and change.
